Lucian Narsingh, Omid Singh, Roy Krishna, Danny Bath, Yan Dhanda are the few famous Indian origin players. Although none of them has played for Indian National team because of strict Indian rules. Apart from these players, there are few other names who are Indian origin and are playing professional football abroad.

Luther Singh

Born in soweto, South Africa, Luther Singh was once one of the hottest talent in the continent. Clubs like Real Madrid(B), Swansea City and Pescara were interested in signing him. But unfortunately it could not happen. He had his Youth career at Stars of Africa Academy. He came into limelight when banged goals for GAIS and Braga B. He was loaned to Chaves last year. He is currently playing for portuguese club Moreirense on loan from Braga B.

Luther has Indian descent through his Sikh grandfather. His father,cousins and uncle have played football at amateur or semi-professional level. Luther has played for South Africa’s U20 and U23 teams. He was also in the squad for the 2017 U20 World Cup and 2017 U20 Africa Cup of Nations. He won the Golden Boot award in the U20 Africa Cup of nations. South Africa lost the semi-finals against Zambia who were champions that year. He made his debut for South Africa national team against Angola. Later he scored his first goals against Botswana and Uganda.
