Bidyananda Singh is one of the brightest young talents in Indian football and no, it’s not just us who’s saying it. In 2014 Nike All Asia Camp, Bidyananda was among the 5 players that represented India and not only did he make to the All-Star Game on the final day of the Camp, but he was also adjudged the Most Valuable Players by the Barcelona coaches present there. Not many players in India can boast of an appreciation of that magnitude. The Manipuri midfielder was part of the 2016 ISL winning ATK side, even though he was only a bits and parts player. He signed for Bengaluru FC for the 2017/18 season but was part of the reserves side which played the Second Divison I-League that season. The next season he stayed on with Bengaluru and was part of the senior side but only featured in 1 game during the entire campaign which saw Bengaluru being crowned champions. He moved on from Bengaluru to Mumbai to sign for Mumbai City FC for the 2019/20 season. He had a better season with the Islanders, playing for them 10 times out of which 9 were an introduction into the game from the bench. Even with these limited opportunities, he bagged 1 goal and an assist for the Islanders. Bidyananda is only 22 and is slowly entering his prime as a footballer and could look to move away from Mumbai for more game time.
