ATK have completed the signing of Fiji international. Roy Krishna joins ATK from Wellington Phoenix.
I’m delighted to join ATK for a year. I have taken my time to make what I feel is the right decision for me and my family, and ATK presents a great new opportunity for me in a new league.
Roy Krishna after joining ATK.
Captain of Fiji and scorer of Fiji’s first goal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Krishna first moved to New Zealand in 2008, signing with Waitakere United where he would go on to spend six seasons, scoring 55 goals in 75 matches in the Premiership and Oceania Champions League. A short stint with Auckland City FC followed, before he sealed a move to the Wellington Phoenix in January 2014.
In the recent season, Roy Krishna scored 19 goals and had 4 assists in A League. He was the Golden boot winner. He has scored 51 goals and had 26 assists in all the A League seasons he has played. He has scored 23 goals in 35 matches for Fiji national team.
Roy Krishna is our first international striker signing of the season. He is a prolific striker with leadership skills under his belt. He will add attack and variety to the team and his confidence will give an edge. I am very happy to have him in ATK.
Roy Krishna’s experience in A League and Fiji League will definitely make ATK’s attack more dangerous for opposition.
