AIFF President Praful Patel responded to the long awaited requests of I league clubs and attended the much speculated meeting with their representatives.
Although fans were expecting some ultimate decision on a proper league structure, the AIFF President decided to wait for 2-3 years for securing proper league structure of Indian football along with solving other issues.

The I league representatives seemed to be satisfied after the meeting although the final decision is still to be made by the executive council of AIFF.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Praful Patel said, ” A handful of uncertainty hovering above the fate of Indian football. Unfortunately these issues appeared when I was submitting my candidature for the FIFA Council. On behalf of AIFF, we value the rich history of I league clubs like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan along with priceless contribution of other clubs in the growth of Indian football. We want I league to have a good future.”
When enquired about the future of I league clubs and players he said,”We want players to do well and get paid. We expect good performances from Indian national team. We are concerned about all the stakeholders of Indian football.”
Mr. Patel too promised to solve all the other issues regarding broadcast and other rights. He said, “We have given assurance to I league clubs to solve all their scheduling and broadcasting issues.”
Praful Patel will decide with the executive council of AIFF about the future roadmap of Indian football.
“We hope to find a solution for proper league structure within 2-3 years of time.”, the veteran added.
AIFF’s executive committee will meet on July 9 and everything will be crystal clear by then.
