ATK FC won the inaugural Indian Super league in the year 2014. ATK FC defeated Kerala Blasters 1-0 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. We all remember the infamous Mohammed Rafique header in the ISL 2014 final which gave ATK the inaugural ISL title. Many notable players played in that final for ATK and became champions. But where are they now? Let’s find out.

1. Apoula Edel Bete

Indian football fans will remember Edel for his point blank save from Michael Chopra 4 minutes before the eventual winner, which also earned him the Moment of the match award. Edel last played for FC Pune in the 2016/17 ISL season. He is currently retired from professional football.

2. Kingshuk Debnath

The right back was on loan from Mohun Bagan FC in the inaugural ISL season in 2014. Kingshuk also won the ISL again with ATK in the year 2016. The 36-year-old defender currently plays for Bhawanipore.F.C in the I-league 2nd division.

3. Arnab Mondal

Arnab Mondal last played for ATK in the 2018/19 season

The experienced 31-year-old defender last played for ATK in the 2018-19 ISL season where he appeared 6 times. A Former Indian captain who played 27 times for India, Arnab is without a club now.

4. Jose Miguel Gonzalez Rey

Jose Miguel Gonzalez Rey also known as Josemi was the captain of the ATK side that lifted the ISL trophy in 2014. He was also awarded the fittest player of the match and had also played every minute of ATK’s season. He earned himself a contract extension of one year but was released after he was ruled out of the 2015 season due to injury. After nearly a year without a club, 36-year-old Josemi announced retirement. In Feb 2017, he returned to Malaga.C.F as match delegate. He has also opened a sportswear shop in Malaga.
