ATK Mohun Bagan are in advanced talks with Deepak Tangri from Chennaiyin FC, IFTWC can confirm.

The versatile defender from Chandigarh had a decent season with the 2 time ISL champions who had a miserable season to say the least. Under Csaba Laszlo, He made 46 tackles and 21 interceptions. Csaba used him in multiple positions like center-back, defensive midfielder and right-back as well.
The 22-years-old defensive midfielder started his youth career at the renowned Chandigarh football academy before making a move to Mohun Bagan. He played for the U18 team of Mariners but never made it to their first team squad. To get proper playing time, Deepak moved to the Indian Arrows in 2017.

After spending couple of years at Indian Arrows, Deepak penned down a 3 year contract with Chennaiyin FC but he was loaned back to Arrows for another season. During that period, Deepak played few games for India U20 team as well. He was part of the team which drew against Venezuela in an international friendly.
ATK Mohun Bagan have been pursuing lot of Indian midfielders like Suresh Wangjam and Apuia Ralte, but the chances are very low. Addition of a versatile player like Deepak Tangri will definitely provide more balance to the Mariners.
