Bethany Society wins the “Third North East Blind Football Tournament”.


Bethany Society Won the Third North East Blind Football Tournament, held at Shillong on 26th Jan at the Shillong Public school turf ground. After a hard fought final against that NESBFC, the game went into penalties to decide the winner with Gabriel Nongrum, India International, scoring the winner & winning the Golden Boot with 16 goals. Ms War Deputy Commissioner East Khasi Hills Govt of Meghalaya was the Chief Guest, with SP Muthu IPS CID, David Absalom IBSA Delhi General Secretary, Mr Wanshan Kharkrang Treasurer Meghalaya FA, Jani Viswanath, Founder Healing Lives were the Guests of Honour at the colourful function. Sujith PS from the Academy at Kochi won the best Goalkeeper, Klingson Marak, another India International from Tura was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament. Mansur Husain from Manipur who scored 7 goals in a game, was the most promising player. The event saw also some stand out performances by young talented first teams from Manipur, Siliguri etc and overall had more than 60 goals scored in 23 games played at the tournament.
