Right after the Kick-Off, Bhawanipore FC played attacking football and dominated the first 15 minutes of the match. Bhawanipore FC’s manager Sankarlal Chakraborty decided to play with an experienced team consisting the likes of Avinabo Bag. In the 17th minutes of the match, Jiten Murmu headed the ball inside the net to take his side Bhawanipore FC ahead in the scoreline following a pinpoint cross from the veteran Avinabo Bag. Ten minutes later,it was Avinabo Bag again whose cross found Supriya Pandit inside the opposition box and the forward headed the ball to give Bhawanipore FC a vital two goal advantage in the match. Bhawanipore FC could have taken another goal lead in the first half but Ghanaian Philip Adjah finished on a disappointing note following a promising cross from Avinaboo Bag.

The second half did not start well for the leading team as they had to face some serious attack from the opposition. ARA FC’s Akshay Mall nearly scored for his team when he shoot for the goal in the 46th minutes of the match only to find the ball saved by the goalkeeper. Nigerian forward Stanley Ifeannyieze registered his first shot of the second half in the 55th minute of the match but Suvam Sen came to the rescue again with a diving save. The second half turned out to be a good contest between the two teams as both the teams tried to maintain possesion. Bhawanipore produces some continuous attack in the last quarter of the match as their players registered about eight shots during the time interval but none of them managed to get pass the goalkeeper. Bhawanipore FC won the match by 2-0 scoreline when referee blew the final whistle.
