BREAKING: Pakistan withdraw from AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers, will not play India.

Tashkent: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially pulled itself out of the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers that was set to take place in the Uzbek capital.

India were placed alongside Pakistan, hosts Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in Group F.

With the prevailing tensions between the two nations following the Pulwama attack, there were some questions raised over India’s fixture with Pakistan.

However with this development the team has got rid of the controversy that was surrounding the match.

The fixtures now remain as follows:

March 22, 17:00
Uzbekistan – India (“Pakhtakor” stadium)

March 24, 17:00
Tajikistan – India (“Pakhtakor” stadium)

March 26, 17:00
Uzbekistan – Tajikistan (“Pakhtakor” stadium)
