Kyrgyz forward Mirlan Abdraimovich Murzaev is set to lay out his services for Chennaiyin FC for the upcoming iteration of the Indian Super League, sources close to IFTWC can confirm.
Following Rafael Crivellaro’s extension and Božidar Bandović’s arrival, this can turn out to be the next positive move for Chennaiyin FC. If this move materialises, Mirlan Murzaev will be the first-ever Kyrgyz player to feature in the Indian Super League.
The 31-year-old plied his trade for FC Dordoi Bishkek last season, a Kyrgyz professional football club based in Bishkek that competes in the Kyrgyz Premier League. Mirlan Murzaev has shifted clubs 15 times in his career, of which he moved to FC Dordoi Bishkek five times. The other clubs the Kyrgyz forward has featured for include FC Kazanka Moscow (Lokomotiv-2 Moscow), Denizlispor, Afjet Afyonspor, and so on.
Standing tall at six-foot, Mirlan has played a career record of 277 club matches and has scored 94 goals. He has featured 48 times for the Kyrgyzstan national football team and scored 14 times, two of which came against India.
Might this move materialise, could he turn the tables for Chennaiyin FC? It will be a question the Chennaiyin FC fans would indeed be pondering about.
