Chennaiyin FC has secured the signatures of Polish midfielder Ariel Borysiuk. IFTWC can exclusively confirm that the former Bundesliga player is India-bound and will don the Chennaiyin FC colors for the Indian Super League 2021-22 season.

Chennaiyin FC has found their DM for the season in Ariel Borysiuk, who will join the Marina Machans on a 1 year deal with an additional year as an extension clause. “Ariel Borysiuk has put pen to paper and the formalities are almost done. The Polish International is all set to play for Chennaiyin FC,” said one source who has been tracking the development. 

Speaking about his prior experience, the 30-year-old defensive midfielder got into the prominence of his career at Legia Warsaw – the club which is regarded as the most successful in Polish Ekstraklasa having won the league for a mammoth 15 times. Following his long stint at Warsaw, Ariel Borysiuk earned himself a move to the German top tier – Bundesliga.

Ariel took the field for FC Kaiserslautern and played nearly 50 matches for the club. After a rough patch, the midfielder returned to Ekstraklasa, and further he even represented Queens Park Rangers in the EFL Championship. Recently he was playing for Polish outfit Jagiellonia Bialystok where he played around 28 games throughout the season, clocking over 1000 minutes and even scoring a goal.

At the international stage, following his promotion from the youth ranks of the Poland NT, Ariel even represented the country at the senior level and marked 12 appearances for the main team. The former Polish and Moldovian League winner is expected to take the league by storm as he makes his move to Chennaiyin FC.
