Churchill Brothers are in advanced talks to sign Lebanese defender Shadi Skaf on a free transfer, IFTWC understands. The Goan club is hopeful of landing Shadi Skaf to strengthen their defense after narrowly missing out on the I-League last season.

Shadi Skaf

Shadi Skaf began his career at Al-Nejmeh in Lebanon and played for Al-Ahli last season. The 27-year-old played 14 games last season and has made about 100 appearances in the Lebanese Premier League over the previous six years. He also won the Premier League in 2014 while playing for Al-Nejmeh.

Lebanon is a known market for Churchill Brothers, as they had signed centre-back Hamza Kheir from there last year. Hamza made 12 appearances for The Red Machines and was adjudged as the best defender in the I-League. He has now signed for Al-Ahed in the Lebanese Premier League. Shadi Skaf is expected to be a like-to-like replacement for Hamza.

Churchill Brothers have also reappointed Peter Gigiui as their head coach. Gigiui was the manager of the Goan outfit in 2018 and now returns to the club after a stint in Romania.
