Chennaiyin FC tasted defeat from Jamshedpur FC in ISL match no. 89. Owen Coyle’s side were successful in snatching the 3 crucial points in the last minute of game and still kept their playoff chances alive. Both the head-coaches addressed the media after the match in post-match press conference.
Chennaiyin FC’s head-coach Csaba Laszlo shared his thoughts.
Speaking about the team’s confidence and lack of performance, Laszlo said,
“I do not think that the team has given up. I think we dominated the game and also some good chances today. In the last minute, Thoi (Singh) had a big chance, just to score the goal. I cannot explain honestly, what we saw. As a result, from this we got the counter-attack. I don’t think that we deserved it, but we punished ourselves in the end.”
The head-coach spoke about the substitution of Lanzarote and his fitness issue,
“This was a game in which I think I wanted to bring in fresh people. It was not a problem of Lanza coming out, it was more a problem that in front (attacking), we were not successful in creating so many chances.”
On return of Chhuantea Fanai, Laszlo said,
I don’t want to speak anything wrong about Fanai. I know that the goal came from his side. Maybe, he was more aggressive that time in that situation. After such a long absence, he tried his best to perform, but it is not Fanai’s mistake that we lost the game.”
Commenting on the chances to reach playoffs, the Romanian coach said,
“Even it is not mathematically possible now, but we will fight until the last game and give our best because we have to do this for our team, for the club, for ourselves, for our pride.”
Csaba Laszlo signed off.
