Chennaiyin FC won their away game against FC Goa on a one goal margin. But the much awaited return of the Indian international, Anirudh Thapa, did not actually please the Super Machans’ as the player suffered another injury tonight.

On this note Csaba László said,

“I never risk my players. Thapa was a hundred per cent fit. Also, he was almost tired when he was called off from the pitch. So, I don’t think it is a big injury. Thapa was a hundred per cent fit, yes.”

The golden boot contender, Igor Angulo, failed to get his name on the scoresheet tonight with the scintillating performance the Chennaiyin FC backline had put forth. On this note, Csaba László said,

“We don’t work against a single player. We work on stopping the whole team. FC Goa play really good football. They play with a lot of possession. Our tactic was to stay compact and not leave any gaps in the pitch and it worked very well for us. The boys did a good job.”

Chennaiyin FC were seen missing oodles of chances today. On this note, Csaba László said,

“Yes, it’s not just about confidence. When you create too many chances you also have to stay focused. Chhangte had three fantastic chances and (he missed it), we are working on all of it in the training pitch, even Rafa had some fantastic chances. But at the end of the day we got three points.

“It’s just the struggle of scoring the first goal for some players. If they start to score, they will get on track easily.”

Csaba László signed off by saying that the team is very happy with the win and they deserved to win the three points this evening.
