Hyderabad FC extended their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win against the clueless Chennaiyin on Sunday at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, Goa. They are now comfortably placed in the third position with twenty two (22) points above FC Goa and NorthEast United FC.

The 36-year-old Hyderabad striker, Fran Sandaza scored his second successive goal of the season and gave the lead for HFC in the first half. The Marina Machans found their rhythm and fought back for an equalizer in the second half but a late goal from Joel Chianese killed the hopes of Chennai fans in the 82nd minute.

After the second loss of the season against Hyderabad, the Chennaiyin Head Coach Csaba Laszlo spoke to the media and said, “I am speechless and disappointed. The first half of the game was not fantastic for us but we showed some fighting spirit in the second half and I must compliment the players for that

When asked about the team’s goal-scoring issues, the disappointed Laszlo stated, “The quality of the player is the simple solution for scoring goals. They are not 15-year-old kids to teach football. They are playing professional football and they are paid for scoring goals

You must have the confidence to score goals, Players in Premier League also miss chances but not many chances like this and I have never seen anything like this in my coaching career. I think we have to talk to someone to create a vaccine for goal scoring”

I don’t want to hide behind Thapa and Crivellaro’s injury but I have to agree that our offence is definitely suffering because of their absence. Thapa was not 100% today, so I didn’t risk him in this match” he added.

Finally, Csaba gave his opinion about Manuel Lanzarote’s availability and concluded the press conference.

He said, “Lanza came out of the Quarantine today; he has never met the teammates and doesn’t know our plan, so I didn’t risk him today in the match. He will train with us from tomorrow; We have four days until the next game and we have put a lot of hopes on him to give more stability and creativity in the midfield”.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Gaffer Manuel Marquez Roca was pretty pleased with his team’s win over Chennai and expressed his opinion on their team’s string of draws.

He said, “Many people say that draw is nothing but I don’t agree with that, it is better than a loss. We needed a win and I think we deserved this win after four draws

Then, the 52-year-old coach went on to praise Fran Sandaza and said, “Fran is a striker with a lot of level in Spain. He has played at the top level in Segunda (Spanish 2nd Division) and didn’t accept a few offers from the first division because he had better challenges in offer

Unfortunately, he missed the majority of the season due to injury. Now, he has recovered step by step and I think he is one of the Best Strikers in the championship (ISL) because he has scored two consecutive goals in less than 90 minutes (compiling two games)”.

Further, he applauded NEUFC for their recent performances under Khalid Jamil and signed off from the press conference.
