After Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Ishfaq Ahmed and Ishan Pandita, Danish Farooq is set to become the 4th player from Jammu Kashmir to play in the ISL as the Blues have roped him from the Snow Leopards on a free transfer, IFTWC can exclusively confirm.
Bengaluru FC had a miserable season, to say the least, but the Blues have already started preparing for the next season as they have roped in Sarthak Golui from SC East Bengal on a free transfer. Now, Former ISL champions have bolstered their attack with the addition of Danish Farooq.
Danish started playing for JK bank at a very young age and captained the team in the youth leagues. Before joining Real Kashmir, Danish played for their arch-rivals Lonestar Kashmir in the I League second division. Lonestar Kashmir couldn’t complete their fairytale story as they failed to win the final round of the tournament that season. Danish joined the snow leopard in 2016, which turned out to be the turning point of his career.
In his first season with Real Kashmir, Danish played a pivotal role for his team by scoring four goals as they created history by winning the I League second division. The poster boy of Jammu Kashmir football has played more than 45 games in the I League and has managed to score some crucial goals for his local club. In the most recently concluded I League season, He scored 3 goals and was impressive on the flanks throughout the season.
With Ashique doing a wonderful job at left-back and with the decline of Udanta Singh, Danish Farooq seems to be a perfect addition for the Blues. The 25 years old forward can play anywhere in the final third and will have the chance to learn under the likes of Sunil Chhetri.
