Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem set to sign for Quess East Bengal FC!!

India U17 World Cup star set to play for Kolkata giants Quess East Bengal FC from next season.

After failing to win I League trophy by a single point, Quess East Bengal FC are set to sign young goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh. Rakshit Dagar was the first choice goalkeeper of Quess East Bengal for Alejandro Menendez. Rakshit made some brilliant saves. Alejandro plays a style of football in which goalkeeper plays like outfield player. East Bengal start thier play from the back and then take it forward. This style of play has suited them very well. Rakshit has been making some really good saves for them. But his distribution has been poor. He made some errors which led to goals.

Dheeraj played for Kerala Blasters this season. Before that Dheeraj was the 1st choice goalkeeper for India U17 team which played U17 World Cup. He impressed everyone with his reflexes and distribution. He made some stunning saves in the tournament. He was one of the stand out performer for Indian team in the tournament.

After U17 World Cup ended, he gave trails at Bournemouth and Motherwell, both are well known clubs in Europe. Dheeraj impressed the coaching staff and officials in Motherwell, Scotland. But he wasn’t able to sign for them because he didn’t got visa to play there.

In 2018, Dheeraj penned down a Three year deal with Kerala Blasters. Dheeraj got his chances in starting eleven. He made some brilliant saves in the beginning of the tournament. Later Dheeraj made some mistakes which led to goals. Dheeraj was inconsistent for Kerala Blasters. But whenever he played at his potential he looked unbeatable.

Apart from his goalkeeping skills, Dheeraj has good distribution and will fit into Alejandro’s tactics. It will be interesting to see if Kerala Blasters ask for transfer fee since Dheeraj has 2 more years remaining in his contract with Kerala Blasters. Apart from Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem, Quess East Bengal are in talks with 2 more players.
