As per reports, kbfc set to sack their head coach Eelco, as the newly appointed director has new plans for the club. According Rumors, Kibu Vicuna is all set to take charge of Kerala Blasters. Kibu Vicuna won I League with Mohun Bagan this season. But due to ATK-Mohun Bagan merger, Only one of the Antonio Habas and Kibu Vicuna could continue and the management choosed Antonio Lopez Habas.
Both Kibu Vicuna and Eelco Schattorie prefer possession based Football. When it comes to Possession, only handful amount of Indian teams have kept it more than Kerala Blasters. Kibu used his fullbacks and creative midfielders very well in Mohun Bagan. Youngsters like SK Sahil, Nongdamba Naorem have stepped up under Kibu. Beitia, Diawara, Fran Morante and Gonzalez are the forigners who created a major impact. Suhair VP and Ashutosh Mehta had a brilliant season too.
Eelco’s Kerala was heavily dependent on Ogbeche and Messi Bouli. Kerala Blasters were keeping the possession during the matches but were lacking in penetrating the opposition defense. Kerala Blasters had unstable defense throughout the season. Sandesh Jhingan was out for the whole season. Players like Sahal, Samuela weren’t able to showcase their talent on the field under Eelco.
Kerala Blasters have quality young players. Kibu knows how to mold youngsters. Kerala Blasters have retained Ogbeche. It will be interesting to see which Mohun Bagan players come to Kerala Blasters along with Kibu.
