The 20-year-old defensive-midfielder Amarjit Singh Kiyam is all set to join FC Goa, IFTWC can confirm.

The Manipur-born is an AIFF Elite Academy graduate and also made his appearance in the historic India side at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017. In the same year, he joined Indian Arrows. Making 16 appearances for the developmental side, he attracted ISL clubs. In 2018, he was signed by Jamshedpur FC and for the same season, he was sent back on loan to Indian Arrows. In the season of 2018-19, he played 20 matches and scored 3 goals.

Amarjit made his senior international debut in the Kings Cup 2019 on June 5 in the opening match against Curacao as he came as a substitute for Pronay Halder. He became the first player to born after 2000 to play in the senior team. Playing for Jamshedpur FC, he made 14 appearances.

Earlier this month goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh who was also the part of Under-17 World Cup team was signed for an undisclosed transfer fee from ATK Mohun Bagan. Another national team player Adil Khan was bought in on loan deal from Hyderabad FC. As FC Goa are participating in AFC Champions League, the club has been very active in January transfer window. It will be very interesting to watchout how Amarjit finds his place in the starting eleven as the squad is already filled with midfielder’s like Brandon Fernandes, Princeton Rebello, Edu Bedia, Lenny Rodrigues and others.
