FC Goa vs ATK Mohun Bagan: Preview, Team News, Lineup and more

-

FC Goa are set to clash against ATK Mohun Bagan tonight at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda in Goa.

Juan Ferrando’s side will try to keep the streak of winning run going on while ATK Mohun Bagan will be hungry for a win after they tasted the defeat in the last match against Mumbai City FC.

Currently, FC Goa stands third in the points table with 18 points and ATK Mohun Bagan is on the second position with 20 points. Despite of FC Goa missing Igor Angulo in the last match, Ortiz showcased his talent and scored a brace. On the other hand, ATK Mohun Bagan has started to struggle to score goals in the counter-attacking tactics of Antonio Lopez Habas.

The Gaurs need to buckle up more offensively and defensively against the Mariners as they lost against them in the previous fixture by 1-0. The loss came in by conceding a penalty in last minutes of the game. It will be very interesting to watch how ATK Mohun Bagan encounters with FC Goa and find their winning way back.

3 INDIAN PLAYERS TO WATCH-OUT FOR

Brandon Fernandes, Sandesh Jhingan and Manvir Singh will be the three Indian players to watch out for.

Brandon will have a crucial role in the squad of the Gaur’s attacking midfield to create chances while Manvir Singh will have the same responsibility on another side to ensure that he makes runs on the wings to put crosses into the box. Sandesh Jhingan has been very spectacular since the start of the season making important clearances and blocks which has helped the Mariners to concede fewer goals.

3 FOREIGN PLAYERS TO WATCH-OUT FOR

The leading goal scorer Igor Angulo and Ortiz will be the players to watch out from FC Goa side. Igor Angulo has been leading the top goal scorer’s list with 9 goals. In the previous match against Jamshedpur FC, Ortiz scored astonishing brace where he will look to continue his same form. On the other hand, ATK Mohun Bagan’s striker Roy Krishna will try again to snatch the win against the Gaurs, ensuring he contributes and also scores goals.

TEAM NEWS

In the previous game, FC Goa’s key striker Igor Angulo missed the match due to illness. But, he should be back into the starting line-up as Juan Ferrando made it clear in pre-match press conference saying that no other injuries or absentees will be there.

Meanwhile, ATK Mohun Bagan will miss Pranoy Halder as he is suspended for a game after he picked up four yellow cards in earlier matches collectively. No other injury reports have been reported from Mariners camp.
