Islanders have been very active in the transfer window. They have now signed Diego Carlos and Sarthak Golui from their arch rivals FC Pune City.Diego Carlos kicked off his youth career with Flamengo. Then he played for Duque de Caxias and Corinthians Alagoano. Carlos made his debut in the Russian First Division for FC Nizhny Novgorod on April 4, 2011 in a game against FC Volgar-Gazprom Astrakhan and scored 2 goals on his debut. On 24 January 2017, he left FC Ufa after his contract was terminated.
On 16 March 2017, Carlos returned to Brazil, signing for São Bento which competed in Serie C, the third tier of Brazilian football. On 8 August, Carlos moved abroad, signing for FC Pune City. He was instrumental on FC Pune City’s left-wing in the 2017-18 season and scored in their wins over Mumbai City FC and ATK. He continued Playing for FC Pune City in the 2018-19 Season. He also scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in the last season. Diego will be wearing blue of Mumbai next season.Mumbai City FC also completed the signing of versatile defender, Sarthal Golui. Born in West Bengal, Golui was a part of the AIFF Elite Academy before trialing with I-League side, Mohun Bagan. On 9 January 2016, Golui made his professional debut with Mohun Bagan in the opening game of the I-League season against Aizawl. He came on in the last minute for Kean Lewis as Mohun Bagan won 3-1. Then he moved to FC Pune City and was regular in the starting eleven. Sarthak can play as left back and centre back, can also play as right back.
Inclusion of Diego Carlos and Sarthak Golui will definitely strengthen Islanders squad.
