Anyone who has watched Boris play can just say three words about him. I am not talking about those three magical words. Come on ya!

The three words are – ‘ WHAT A PLAYER

Boris is India’s very own Marcelo- the only difference being that the Brazilian plays on the left while the Indian plays on the right. Apart from the position he plays in, Boris is pretty much similar to Marcelo. Both are short, both are quick, albeit Boris is a little more, both play as attacking fullbacks and maraud down the flanks, both have so much stamina that it can be rated 99 on FIFA and add to that- both score goals and provide assists.

Boris is one of the finest players from the World Cup batch. After the World Cup, he played a couple of seasons for the Indian Arrows and was one of the best players not only for the Arrows but in the entirety of the league. He played a total of 31 matches in two seasons before making the big move to ATK. Everyone thought that Boris is ready for ATK and would make the right back position his own. But the re-emergence of a certain Prabir Das has not let the desired happen. And if Prabir’s performances are anything to go by, he has all but secured the right full back position at ATK for the next season and seems indispensable to say the least.

Make no mistake, Boris is good enough to start in most ISL teams but competing with arguably the best right full back India has at the moment is by no means an easy task. Last season, Boris did not get even a minute of playing time and thus, it is necessary for Boris to start playing regularly in order to reach his potential. A long-term contract with ATK means that just like Dheeraj, he should also be on the lookout for a loan move to the I-League.
