Diego Forlan

The Uruguayan legend signed a three month deal with Mumbai City FC in the third edition of the Indian Super League and went on scoring five goals in eleven matches he played. During his stint in the club, the Islanders finished top of the table but lost to the eventual champions Atletico de Kolkata in the semi-final where he was sent off in a must-win semifinal clash. The 2010 World Cup  Golden Boot winner scored a hat-trick against the then runners-up Kerala Blasters at Mumbai. 

He joined Hong Kong club Kitchee in 2018 and then he announced his retirement on 7th August 2019.

Tom Thorpe

The Manchester United youth academy product signed for ATK on 11th September 2017 as the seventh foreigner under another United legend Teddy Sherringham but failed to mark his presence in the Indian Super League, scoring only one goal in eleven outings. The team also had a disappointing season, changing managers thrice in the season.
