I League – Gokulam Kerala sign Sharif Mukhammad from Maziya

Gokulam Kerala have roped in Sharif Khamayuni Mukhammad from Maziya, IFTWC can confirm.

Sharif plays as center back and comes with the experience of playing in the AFC Cup. He’s a versatile player and can play as defensive midfielder as well. Sharif also holds Russian citizenship.

The 30 years old defender started his career at Dinamo Makhachkala U19 in 2006. He then had stints with clubs like Anzhi and Spartak Nalchik in Russia before moving to AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden. He moved to Asia in 2018 when he signed for Indonesian club Medan.

Before signing for Maziya, Sharifi was playing for Karmiotissa Pano Polemidion, who play in the Protathlima Cyta. Sharifi was a crucial player for Maziya in their AFC Cup campaign. He played both the games against Bengaluru FC in the qualification round, where the team from Maldives came on top against the former ISL champions.

After appointing new head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese, Gokulam Kerala have made some impressive signings. Apart from Sharif, they have strengthened their defense with the addition of Deepak Devrani, Rowilson Rodrigues and Ajin tom. Dennis Antwi will be leading the line for the Malabarians.
