Delhi FC‘s Himanshu Jangra is set for a loan move to Indian Arrows, IFTWC can confirm. The 17-year-old, widely regarded as one of the finest youngsters in India, recently made headlines after being named in the Guardian’s Best Young Talents 2021 list. Jangra will join the Arrows side in January when the winter transfer window opens.

Himanshu was a trialist at Chandigarh’s Minerva Academy in 2016 and joined the academy later that year. Jangra made his mark in the Hero Sub Junior I League, scoring 18 goals during the tournament. His form carried over into the Hero Junior I-League, where he scored 9 goals for Minerva and helped them win the title. Himanshu made one appearance for Punjab FC’s reserve side in the second division I-league before earning a promotion to the senior team. His first appearance in the I-League came when he was 15 and he went on to feature in five more games.

Last year, Jangra joined Mohammedan SC and shortly afterward signed with Techtro Swades United FC in the Himachal League. Five goals in four appearances for Techtro made him the top scorer in the league. The 17-year-old’s last club was Delhi FC, with whom he played in the Delhi League, I-League Qualifiers, and the Durand Cup as well. Himanshu scored eight goals in 18 appearances for Delhi FC.

Jangra has also represented the Indian U15 and U16 sides, winning the Most Valuable Player award at the U15 SAFF Championships after scoring seven goals in the tournament, including two hat-tricks.

Indian Arrows’ signing of Himanshu Jangra comes as a welcome move as it allows the youngster to gain some valuable experience playing in the I-League. A regular starting role with the Arrows will also allow Jangra to gain a great deal of playing time. The teenager also has the opportunity to impress scouts from ISL clubs and plot a big move to the league.

In addition to Himanshu Jangra, another player of Delhi FC is expected to join the Indian Arrows on loan this season.

Under Shanmugam Venkatesh, the Arrows finished fourth in their group last season, losing 10 matches and winning only three. With only 11 goals scored in 14 games, the club in particular had a problem scoring goals. However, with the addition of Jangra to the team, the situation should be resolved to a large extent.
