Hugo Boumous, the midfielder, has signed a new three-year contract with FC Goa. Hugo Boumous thus becomes the first foreign player to sign a three-year deal in the Indian Super League (ISL ).

Boumous joined the club in January, 2018, and since then he was excellent for his team.

In the 2017-18 season, he scored two goals and two assists as FC Goa reached the playoffs.

In the 2018 Super Cup, he was the top-scorer for his side as they reached the semifinals.

This season Hugo Boumous score 3 goals in addition to 5 assists as the Gaurs marched their way to a runners-up finish.

Commenting on new contract Hugo Boumous said

“Staying at FC Goa was always my first priority and now I can say that I am happy to have signed a new contract that will keep me here for some time to come. This helps me buckle down and focus on what is important.

“I would like to thank the club for having the faith in me and the fans for always having our back. I am confident that we will continue to have success in the years to come.”

Speaking on the contract extension, Akshay Tandon, President of FC Goa stated, “Hugo (Boumous) has been an integral part of our squad and truly believes in the philosophy of football that we are committed to.
