3) No Mohun Bagan and East Bengal in I-League 2020/21
Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will not be a part of I-League 2020/21 after having left the league to participate in the Indian Super League (ISL). Mohun Bagan merged with former ISL champions ATK to form ATK Mohun Bagan whereas East Bengal also joined the Indian top-tier league.
With two of the biggest and most consistent teams not playing in the I-League this season, all the other teams have an equal chance of winning the trophy as they all look evenly matched on paper.
4) Sudeva to make their debut in I-League 2020/21
Sudeva Delhi FC will make their debut in the upcoming edition of the I-League. The club consists of only Indian players, becoming the second team after Indian Arrows to sport only Indian players in their ranks.
Sudeva will play the season opener against Mohammedan SC, who gained promotion to the I-League after winning the qualifier which took place in October. The game starts at 2:00 PM IST live from Kolkata. They will look to start their campaign on a positive note.
The Chencho Dorji coached side will hope to win the title in the debut season. All the eyes will be set on the youngsters to prove themselves and find a spot for them in the ISL and Indian National Team.
