The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on April 2, 2020 had announced the extension of the deadline for submitting “expressions of interest” for the hosting rights of the AFC Asian’s Cup 2027. 3 days after this, it is being said that India has submitted an official bid for the same as well.
, March 30 was the deadline to submit it but now AFC has extended it till June 30. Saudi Arabia was the solitary country to announce it’s intention and was on its way to earn the hosting rights. But now they are all set to face competition from some other countries, including India.

AIFF Secretary, Kushal Das, has said that, they have submitted the expression of interest, the only thing which is required as of now. Talks are surfacing that South Korea is also interested in hosting the continental showpiece in 2027.
India had participated in the 2019 edition of the Asian Cup for only the fourth time in the history and came close to qualify for the round of 16. The next edition in 2023 is going to be hosted by China and the Indian national team will be determined to take part in it again.

India hosted the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017 and was all set to host the FIFA U-17 Girl’s World Cup as well in November 2020, but unfortunately, was postponed due to the ongoing Coronavirus threat. India was also awarded the hosting rights of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in 2022.
India had entered the race for hosting the Asian Cup 2023 but backed off later on. India has never hosted the Asian Cup and would be hoping to do so in 2027.
