STEVEN TAYLOR – ODISHA FC
Steven Vincent Taylor is not a new name for the English Premier League fans. The 34-year-old Englishman is a product of the Newcastle United Academy and has represented The Magpies in the EPL. Taylor has played 195 matches in the Premier League adding 12 goals to his name.
Apart from Newcastle, he has also wore the colors of Wycombe Wanderers, Ipswich Town, and Peterborough United in England. In between, he had a brief stint with the American Major League side Portland Timbers where he started for 9 games and scored a goal. The center-back spent nearly a decade in the Premier League before signing for the Australian league side Wellington Phoenix in the 2018-19 season. He played 49 matches for the Nix and captained them last season. The Kalinga Warriors have penned a one-year deal with Taylor and he will lead them this season under gaffer Stuart Baxter, as he quoted “Steven’s credentials speak for himself, but more than that we are bringing leadership qualities into our young squad. He is an exceptional defender and is a presence that will give the whole team a whole boost”.
