Glenville Adam James le Fondre joined the Islanders on a season-long loan deal from the Australian League side Sydney FC. The 32-year-old English striker spent his entire career in the English footballing structure before joining the A-League side in the 2018-19 season. Le Fondre started his career with Stockport Country’s youth side, however, his Premier League debut was with the then promoted Reading Club where he signed a three-year deal in the 2011-12 season. Cardiff City roped the prolific striker for a three-year deal in 2014 and he was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers and became the top goal scorer for the team. The loan saga continued as Wolves and Wigan Athletic signed him for season-long loans in the 2015 -16, 2016-17 seasons respectively. In the 2017-18 season, he signed a permanent deal for two years with Bolton Wanderers from where he joined the A-League and was the second top scorer of the league.
