The 2020-21 edition of Indian Super League season came to an end on March 8 2021. Goals galore, as over 298 goals have been scored in the 7th edition of the Hero Indian Super League. Olympic goals, Long rage screamers, feisty solo strikes, rocket sneak flicks, as you name it. A few of them foreground-reel worthy and jaw dropping, caught the spectators wonder and awe-struck.

1. Bright Enobakhre (SC East Bengal Vs FC Goa, 6th January 2021)

A superstar in making, Bright Enobakhare’s solo goal against FC Goa which was scored on 6th January, remains to be the best goal of the 2020-21 Indian Super League campaign, as he nearly beat four FC Goa defenders to open the scoring for the Red & Gold Brigades.

In the 70th minute of the game, after succumbing to a 1-0 trail, Jacques Maghoma won the ball from Debjit Majumder’s free-kick to feed Enobakhare who fended off a challenge and head straight to Goa’s backline. No sooner he entered the 22 yard box, he outfoxed every Goan defenders, and with a couple of feints he stroke the ball into Goa’s nets beating the opposition’s custodian in style. The strike which nearly stole the accolades of every Football pundits, still remains to be a splendid sight to behold.

2. Rafael Crivellaro (Chennaiyin FC VS FC Goa, 19th December 2020)

The Marina Machans had an agonizing season in the Hero ISL 2020-21 Campaign, after they lost their captain Rafael Crivellaro, who was ruled out for half of the season, owing to a serious ligament injury on his left ankle. But just before his departure, he nabbed his first goal of the ISL 2020-21 in style as he scored directly from a corner kick.

No sooner had the game kicked off , the Midfield maestro took an eloquent strike from the corner and sent a curled ball straight over to the back of the net in the fifth minute of the game, to offer his side a comfortable 1-0 lead against FC Goa. The Olympic-goal opener left the spectators go bizarre, and in style this supreme strike from Rafael Crivellaro is arguably one of the greatest goals ever in the Indian Super League’s history.

3. Gary Hooper ( Kerala Blasters FC vs ATK Mohun Bagan, 31st January 2021)

On 31st January, Kerala Blasters FC lined up against a strong and in-form ATK Mohun Bagan side in the reverse fixture of season 7. While Kerala Blasters enduring a tough campaign, it was the English Man who gave his side a glimmer of hope and cheered his fanbase with a delectable long-range goal.

In the 14th minute, Sandeep Singh delivered the ball across to the left-wing finds . But still more than 35 yards from goal line, Gary Hooper chested it down and spotted the ATKMB Custodian off his line and unleashed a splendid half-volley that thundered into the top corner past the hapless keeper. But this memorable goal form Hooper just went in vain as the latter came back from twice to beat Kerala Blasters in a 2-3 score line.

4. Lalengmawia Ralte ( NorthEast United FC vs Kerala Blasters FC, 26th February 2021)

The prodigal hero of NorthEast United FC, Lalengmawia Ralte, fondly called as Apuia became an overnight sensation after he scored a long range stunner against Kerala Blasters FC on 26th February 2021, as the match ended in favor of the Highlanders. Thanks to Apuia’s stunning goal, which doubled the lead and sealed the victory for the Highlanders.

In the 45th minute, Luis Machado supplied a cross from the right finds Dylan Fox at the left flank who recovered and played the ball to Apuia, who stepped past with the ball to his marker and pulled off a trigger that sneaked past the right hand of Albino Gomes, which later rippled the nets after hitting the underside of the crossbar, making it 2-0 for the Highlanders.

5. Glan Martins ( FC Goa vs Mumbai City FC, 8th February 2021)

FC Goa’s midfielder, Glan Martins drew the 200th goal of season in a pitcher perfect style. In the game against Mumbai City FC which was played at Bambolim on 8th February 2021, Glan Martins really did the improbable from a distance to give his side an equalizer when FC Goa were anguishing an 1-0 trail. In the stoppage time of 45 minutes, Jorge Ortiz gets the ball on the left side and cut-passes the ball to Glan Martins in the middle of the MCFC half. The Gaurs’ midfielder takes a touch to his right and then fires a thunderbolt into the back of the net. It beats Amrinder Singh’s dive to his left and the ball ripples the net after hitting the underside of the crossbar. Finally the match ended in a draw, with both sides sharing the spoils in a 3-3 score line.
