Chennai: In a gripping clash here at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Nathan Rodrigues’ 64th-minute equaliser salvaged a point for Mumbai City FC as they held Chennaiyin FC to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, November 9.
The encounter saw both teams trading goals within a span of just three minutes, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.Chennaiyin FC drew first blood in the 61st minute, as Ryan Edwards capitalised on a precise pass from Connor Shields to put the hosts ahead.
However, Mumbai City FC quickly responded, with Nathan Rodrigues heading in the equaliser just minutes later, following a stunning assist from van Nieff.The match began at a cautious pace but gained intensity as time progressed. Both sides created chances, with Mumbai’s Mehtab Singh receiving a booking just before half-time. The first 45 minutes ended goalless, with both teams stepping up their attacking play in the second half.
