ISL clubs have made some big money moves this season. Many young Indian players have moved from I League as well. With the inclusion of East Bengal, more young Indian players are set to get their chances in the ISL. Let’s have a look at the Lesser known talented players to watch out for.
Joe Zoherliana
The right back from Mizoram signed a 2 year deal with Bengaluru FC this season. Joe plays as a right back and can play on the left side as well. He’s known for his offensive abilities.
Joe joined Shillong Lajong academy in 2015 when he was in College. After spending some time in Shillong Lajong academy, He signed for Chanmari FC who play in the Mizoram Premier League. Joe also spent short period of time at FC Pune City, the club from Pune who are defunct now.
The versatile fullback from Mizoram made his I League debut for Aizawl FC against Shillong Lajong. He made only couple of appearances in I League in 2018-19 season. In the last I League season, Joe was a regular for the People’s Club, Aizawl FC. He played all the 15 matches in the I League last season and 14 of them were starts.
Joe is not just solid at back, but also a threat for opponents while going forward. He also scored a 95th minute winner against the Indian Arrows and grabbed one assist as well. Not to forgot that he scored 3 goals and 4 assists in the Mizoram Premier League. Joe has won the Mizoram Premier League twice and was finalist in the Independence Day Cup as well. Joe now has chance to prove himself in one of the biggest Indian club.
