Apart from the transfers and loans there has been surprising and interesting swap deals between clubs. Let’s have a look at those deals at a glance:

1. Shankar Roy – Subrata Paul – Swap Deal between SC East Bengal and Hyderabad FC:

A surprising change from a neutral perspective, East Bengal decided to bring in Subrata Paul from Hyderabad FC, in a swap deal with Shankar Roy, who was the best goal keeper in the I-League last season and performed well in a game for East Bengal were he was unlucky enough to pick up a slight injury.

At the same time, Subrata Paul had been performing well for Hyderabad apart from the fact that he too picked up a little injury due to which he was on the bench since a while. Hyderabad are almost as if seemingly trying to build a squad for the future, and Shankar Roy might just be a perfect pick for them, but given that Debjit Majumder is on top form under the East Bengal goal, it would be interesting to see how or when Subrata Paul would make an impact in the team.

2. Jackichand Singh – Farukh Chowdhury – Swap Deal between Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC:

Another surprising deal as Farukh Chowdhury makes his move back to Jamshedpur, while right wing sensation, Jackichand Singh joins Mumbai to almost complete their squad as one of the most well built team in the league this season.

Farukh was one of the top performers for Jamshedpur last season, but found his place on the Mumbai bench, under Lobera, while Jacki moved to Jamshedpur this very season, but had featured in most of the games from the very first minute. Both of the players are yet to shine in their new teams, but surely the coaches have their plans for the best, and it is just a wait of time to see the Indian Internationals back to the limelight with their match winning performances.

3. Marcelinho Pereira – Brad Inman – Swap Deal between Odisha FC and ATK Mohun Bagan FC:

A change which could be sensed but with no clue of which club would have picked him up, but at the end it was the team from Kolkata, who are looking to make a mark in the AFC competitions and try to chase Mumbai City up the table to steal away the League Title from them.

The star man Marcelinho was surprisingly on the sidelines of Odisha FC on their bench for majority of the season so far, and didn’t look pleased to be sitting and watching the games from there. Meanwhile, Brad Inman with huge expectations, failed to find a place in the ATK Mohun Bagan lineup and couldn’t make an impact in the limited chances he was given.

Hence the deal, and Marcelinho made his move to ATK Mohuun Bagan, who already started a game for his new team along with a goal to announce his arrrival, while Brad Inman is looking to prove his worth for his new club, Odisha.

4. Lenny Rodriguez – Glan Martins – Swap Deal between FC Goa and ATK Mohun Bagan FC:

A last minute alteration for both the squads as Lenny Rodriguez made his move to ATK Mohun Bagan to replace Glan Martins who joined FC Goa. It might be a tactical switch from the managers as Glan Martins had been decent enough for ATK MB and Lenny had been a consistent performer for FC Goa since a while now. Lenny’s addition would surely strengthen the ATK Mohun Bagan midfield, while Glan Martins already announced his arrival with a Goal line clearance for FC Goa, in his first game for his new club.

That’s all for the confirmed transfers in the Winter Transfer window, and the season is now awaiting a nail-biting finish, with the ending stage of the league going on and the teams are narrowly separated which makes it more exciting for the fans, as any thing could happen in the Top 4 race and almost every team stands an equal chacne of making it to the Top 4.
