ISL – Bengaluru FC complete Roy Krishna signing

-

Bengaluru FC have completed the signing of Roy Krishna on a free transfer, IFTWC can confirm.

Roy Krishna was one of the first high-profile players to move from the A-League to India when he joined ATK FC in 2019 and finished as the top scorer in only his first season. Under Antonio Habas, he also won the trophy in his debut season. He later signed with ATK Mohun Bagan, which made its ISL debut in 2020 and has since scored 24 goals for the club in two seasons across league and cup competitions.

Roy Krishna

Following the confirmation of Krishna’s departure from ATK Mohun Bagan last month, the 34-year-old revealed that he had not made the decision to leave Bagan on his own indicating that he had not left on the best of terms.

Krishna had a strong friendship with Prabir Das, who Bengaluru FC had previously confirmed to sign for the club. For the past three years, Das and Krishna have played together at ATK and ATK Mohun Bagan. This time, however, the formidable duo will be seen in new colours.

Roy Krishna

Cleiton Silva, Bengaluru FC’s top scorer from the previous campaign, has not had his contract extended, and Roy Krishna seems to be the chosen one to replace him.

Along with the signings of goalkeeper Amrit Gope and Faisal Ali, Bengaluru had also previously confirmed the arrival of Hira Mondal from East Bengal. Javi Hernandez had been unveiled as their new midfield signing for the upcoming campaign, marking Simon Grayson’s first foreign signing. Krishna’s arrival will be one of the biggest of this transfer window since The Blues will have the services of a proven goal-scorer who can win matches single-handedly.
