-

Kerala Blasters FC have completed the signing of Australian forward Jaushua Sotirio on a two-year deal that will be running till 2025!

The 27-year-old who can play as a winger and a striker has played for several Australian top-tier league clubs like Western Sydney Wanderers, Wellington Phoenix, and Newcastle Jets.

Jaushua’s parents hail from New Caledonia, and Jaushua was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and has dual citizenship in France and Australia. Sotirio started his career with the semi-professional club Marconi Stallions which was based in his hometown. He was also nurtured at the academy of the A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers before getting promoted to their senior team back in 2013.

Jaushua has also represented the Socceroos at the U23 levels (3 goals in 6 matches) and the U20 level (1 goal in 7 matches) as well. But unfortunately, he never got a callup from the senior team.

Jaushua will replace another Australian striker Apostolos Giannou at the club, who won’t be retained after failing to prove himself in his time in India. Sotirio will team up with Greek striker Dimitrios Diamantakos to lead the team’s attack. Diamantakos scored 12 goals and provide 3 assists in 24 appearances in all competitions this season. It will certainly be a pair to watch out for next season.
