Indian Super League outfit Kerala Blasters are in advanced talks with former Real Madrid Centre half David Mateos.
Born in Madrid, David Mateos graduated from the famous Real Madrid Academy. He made his senior debut for the Los Blancos in 2007/08 season but had to spend the following two years at RM Castilla (Real Madrid B). During his stay with the Spanish giants he was able to impress world renowned managers Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho.
After his time at Real Madrid, The 33 year old central defender plied his trade in 4 different countries. In his career David Mateos has been part of iconic clubs like Real Madrid, AEK Athens, Ferencvarosi TC Etc.
Kerala Blasters are looking to sign an Asian striker along with David Mateos, IFTWC has learnt.The centreback had recently signed for a club from Israel, but sources reveal that the player wants to leave the club and is willing relocate.
Kerala Blasters initially were unlucky in the market, As two of their early foriegn recruits Tiri and Oswaldo Henriques Terminated their contract with the club. But the two time Indian super league Finalist have made an astounding comeback by securing the signatures of Argentine Facundo Pereyra and former Las Palmas Midfielder Vicente Gomez.
The Kerala Blasters have also completed the signings of former Wellington Phoenix striker Gary Hooper and Zimbabwean Centre Back Costa Nhamoinesu (yet to be announced).
