-

Bengaluru FC has completed the signing of 29-year-old Mohammed Salah from Punjab FC, IFTWC can exclusively confirm.

Finishing 10th in the points table in a very challenging season, Bengaluru FC aims to strengthen their team for the forthcoming season in order to challenge for the titles. They have acquired the services of 29-year-old experienced left-back Mohammed Salah on a multi-year deal. This signing opens an exciting new chapter in his career to showcase his defensive skills and provide his seasoned experience to the Blues’ lineup.

Mohammed Salah’s career so far

Hailing from Kerala, Salah began his football journey with DSK Shivajians in 2015. His senior career started in the 2016/17 season after transferring to Delhi United FC, a second division team in the Hero I-League. He played six games that season, contributing to the team’s third-place finish.

In the 2017/18 season, Salah joined Gokulam Kerala FC, the I-League side. He stayed with the team until the 2019/20 season, playing a total of 12 matches. Salah was part of the squad that won the Durand Cup in the 2018/19 season. His performance caught the attention of Sreenidhi Deccan FC, who signed him for the 2021/22 season.

Salah’s career took a significant leap forward with Sreenidhi Deccan FC. During his time there, his defensive skills were evident. He consistently disrupted opposition attacks with robust tackling and smart positioning. His ability to anticipate plays and execute vital interceptions was crucial to the team’s defensive tactics. Additionally, Salah’s endurance and speed allowed him to make overlapping runs, providing width and support to the team’s offensive efforts.

After a triumphant stint with Sreenidhi Deccan FC, Salah was transferred to Punjab FC, solidifying his status as a premier left-back in Indian football.

During his time at Punjab FC, Salah consistently delivered solid performances and helped the team win the Hero I-League in the 2022/23 season. This victory paved the way for their entrance into the Hero Indian Super League in the following 2023/24 season. His agility and speed made him a formidable opponent for wingers, often neutralizing their threats and providing a stable defensive presence.

The acquisition of Mohamed Salah by Bengaluru FC is seen as a strategic move to strengthen their defense. At 29, Salah brings a wealth of experience and a track record of solid performances. His defensive skills, combined with his ability to support the offense, make him a valuable addition to the team.

Salah’s transfer to Bengaluru FC is expected to add depth and experience to the team’s defense. His rise from local youth academies to prominence in the I-League showcases his commitment and skill. With Salah joining Bengaluru FC, there is keen anticipation among supporters regarding the influence he will have on the team’s performance in the upcoming season.
