Jamshedpur FC have signed new Spanish striker for the remainder of the season. David Grande has joined Antonio Iriondo’s side in the January transfer window.
“We evaluated our squad after the first half of our season and we have been struggling with injuries to some foreign players. Signing a player like David Grande helps us to add depth to the squad as well as more goals. He’s a mature and proven player with a good left foot, and we think he will combine with our attack line quite-well.” said Iroondo after completing the signing of the Spaniard.
David has spent his whole career in Spain. He played for Unionistas CF most recently. He has a good goalscoring record at the club. He scored 9 goals for them in 18 appearances.
In his early days, he played for b teams of Getafe CF and Albacete CF. Then he had stints with many Spanish lower division or Segunda b division clubs. He played for Malaga B team as well. He made 141 appearances in the Spanish Segunda B division League and has scored 41 goals overall.
After joining Jamshedpur FC, David said “It’s a massive opportunity for me to play at such an important club in India. I have been given an objective by the Head Coach to help the team get into the top four and qualify for the play-offs. This is our priority and I hope to help the team get there.”
Jamshedpur FC started the season very well and had brilliant home record. But as the season went on, they faced several injury problems and slowly started to lose momentum. Their key players like Piti and Castel got injured. Will David help Jamshedpur FC in their quest for first ever ISL Title?
Jamshedpur FC also have signed back Gaurav Mukhi and promoted the U-18 Elite Team talent at the Tata Football Academy (TFA), Sandip Mandi to their senior team.
