ISL – Jamshedpur FC in advanced talks to sign Laldinpuia PC

Jamshedpur Laldinpuia FC

Jamshedpur FC has been one of the busiest sides in the transfer market. The club is actively chasing its targets for next season and has made good progress so far. They have been monitoring Aizawl’s star centre back Laldinpuia and are in advanced negotiations with the player, IFTWC can confirm.

Jamshedpur Laldinpuia

A defender by trade, Laldinpuia kicked off his professional career with Mizoram Premier League side Bethlehem Vengthlang before joining Chhinga Veng in the 2018-19 season. Laldinpuia was outstanding for Chhinga Veng as he shielded their backline expertly and received the best defender award in the Mizoram Premier League.

The promising defender was also part of the Chhinga Veng side, which participated in the I League second division. He also made Mizoram’s Santhosh Trophy squad in both 2018 and 2019 campaigns after his superlative performances in the Mizoram Premier League.

Laldinpuia’s big breakthrough came last season when he signed for former I-League champions Aizawl FC. He was a mainstay at the back for Aizawl and was arguably one of the best Indian centre backs of I-League last season. The 24-year-old racked up 14 appearances last season for Aizawl, who sadly finished in the relegation stage. Even though they topped the relegation stage table, Aizawl FC will be gutted to miss out on a top 6 finish.

Laldinpuia’s arrival will add more depth to the Jamshedpur defence, which already has Indian youth international Jitendra and senior international Narender Gehlot. Jamshedpur FC’s moves in the market are really encouraging as they are set to upgrade their squad for the upcoming edition of the Indian Super League.

The upgrade started in January with the signing of exciting youngster Boris Singh from ATK Mohun Bagan and former player Farukh Chaudhary from Mumbai City FC. Both winter signings significantly impacted Owen Coyle’s side, which finished 6th in the Indian Super League ladder last season.

Jamshedpur FC has already made Seimeinlen Doungel’s deal permanent and secured the signature of U-17 world cup starlet Komal Thattal. They are also set to sign Kerala Blasters forward Jordan Murray, as exclusively revealed by IFTWC a few days ago.
