The Maharashtra born, 23-year-old Farukh Choudhary is all set to ply his trade in the colour of Blue for the Islanders, after signing a multi-year deal.
After his father’s encouragement, young Farukh started his career for the Central Bank who played in Mumbai District Football Association’s league. He later joined the forces of Lonestar Kashmir FC who were playing in I-League division 2. Where he struck 5 times playing 15 games for the valley side.
The next upliftment in his career was when he got loaned to the ISL outifit – Kerala Blasters FC. Where he wasn’t able to gain enough starts to showcase his performance. He was then loaned to the now defunct I-League side – Mumbai FC, where he had 10 games, without scoring or making any impact for the club with assists.
He then joined the newly formed franchise of Jamshedpur FC in 2017/18 season. He had dismal perfomances in that season and the following one, playing 27 games and scoring just twice with 0 assists. Come next season in 2019, Farukh’s brilliance on the pitch was witnessed by the fans, where he played 16 games scoring once and assisting 4 times – most by an Indian for the red miners. Although this stint wasn’t enough as the season ended seeing Jamshedpur FC on 8th position – their worst in ISL.
With Mumbai City on a signing spree, have acquired an experienced campaigner who is all set to return to his roots – Maharashtra, in search of new hopes and a new season of lot more than what we’ve seen so far of the 23 year old.
