The match number 49 of Hero Indian Super League witnessed another hard contested draw as the Hosts FC Goa hold SC East Bengal to a one-one goal haul. It was the third draw for the last time league winners’ FC Goa, however a late header equalizer from Devandra ensured that they get hold of a crucial point, prolonging their unbeaten streak.

Post the match, Juan Ferrando, the Gaffer of FC Goa addressed the press and shared his insights about today’s match results.

The Red and Golds turned up with a different defensive line-up to surprise the Gaurs, but the Chief Ferrando expected this in the very play of football and was ready to any plans. ” We’re not surprised about this. We have prepared this game about different plans of the opponent. In this case I’m happy with the chances and spaces we created in the first half, and it wasn’t a surprise for us” opined the Gaffer.

” After the half-time we decided to create more spaces with two number 10’s but in the transition of our times we lose our balls that costed an opportunity for them to score. The equalizer was good reaction but not so happy with the transitions when we work in the defense.” expressed his thoughts on the defensive weakness.

Much to anyone’s surprise, FC Goa had their best out in their late goals which forted a good impact on the side’s journey in this season. ” Well our mentality is now to put focus on the ACL championship sport and on the forthcoming games. Beneath counting on points, it’s better to work and improve and that’s very important for now.” he added.

Opportunities galore as a blessing in disguise for the Gaurs, but they had their way out and collapsed to the pressure. ” At the end it’s thankful to watch out the game one more time, and we must prepare for the next round of the season starting the very next week. Of course I’m not so happy with the one-one score, wish we had done better but all of our focus is on the next game while it’s important not to repeat the same mistakes. Losing two points a concern of the time but this is football and it’s important to forget and move on” he concluded the presser with a note of hope.
