Defending champions of the Indian Super League, Mohun Bagan has agreed personal terms with 22-year-old Manipuri defender Ruivah Hormipam. The player has agreed to join the Mariners as both clubs are discussing the terms and conditions for a swap deal involving Pritam Kotal and Ruivah Hormipam + money deal.
Ruivah has been donning the jersey of the Blasters for the past two seasons. He has played a total of 38 games for the Yellows including the Super Cup and Durand Cup. He has been a vital piece of the jigsaw for them, pairing up with Croatian center-back Marko Leskovic in a fearless combo on the field for the Blasters.
Ruivah is a young sensation who rose from the ranks of SAI football academy where he spent his youth career for more than a year. He then went on to join then Minerva Punjab in 2018 where he came to the limelight in Indian Football. He was loaned out to Indian Arrows where he made his debut in Hero I-League against Gokulam Kerala FC. He played 14 matches for the setup and returned back to now known Punjab FC, which recently earned a promotion to ISL.
He played the 2019-20 season for Roundglass Punjab where he managed to grab the attention of the Indian football fraternity with his exceptional display of solid defending and impressive ball-playing capacity for an Indian central defender. He caught the eyes of Kerala Blasters FC who managed to rope in the Manipuri sensation on a multi-year deal.
He has been a rising star since then who is wanted by the top team in Indian Super League which made Kerala Blasters FC further extend his contract recently till 2027.
