Kerala Blasters have been the hot potato in Indian Football recently. The club from Kochi recently parted ways with club legend Sandesh Jhingan. and also sacked Eelco Schattorie. Tiri, who had signed a pre-contract with the club, was left in frustration after the newly appointed Sporting Director asked him for a pay-cut. Tiri decided to part ways as well. After all this drama, Viren D’ Silva resigned from the CEO position.
But as it’s said, every cloud has a silver lining. Similarly Kerala Blasters have approached former Delhi Dynamos and Northeast United CEO Prashant Agarwal. Prashant is one of the most successful CEOs ISL has seen recently. He is known for building a strong team out of small budget.
Prashant has tasted success in ISL before with Chennaiyin FC, Delhi Dynamos and Northeast United. Prashant introduced many interesting players to ISL like Marcelinho, Roberto Carlos, Malouda, Stiven Mendoza, John Arne Riise etc.
Prashant was with Chennaiyin FC before joining Delhi Dynamos in 2015 and helped them to reach the playoffs. After the club parted ways with him in 2017, he then joined Northeast United. The 2019 season was historic for the Highlanders as they qualified for the playoffs for the first time ever. Prashant was instrumental for their success.
Apparently Kerala Blasters are doing major revamp and as a result, we are seeing many surprising developments in the club. CEO is an important position for any club, especially while doing the player recruitment. Although Prashant isn’t the only name Kerala Blasters are considering for the vacant position but looks like he is the frontrunner in landing the CEO position at Kerala Blasters.
