Kerala Blasters have acquired the services of Cameroonian centre-forward Raphael Messi Bouli on a free transfer. Having signed Bartholomew Ogbeche from North East United FC recently, Blasters add more fire power to their attack by bringing in Messi Bouli from Cameroon. The 27-year-old forward last played in the Persian Gulf Pro League in Iran for Foolad FC making 12 appearances for the club which includes a goal.
Before moving to Iran, Messi plied his trade for Yanbian Funde in China. This was his first stint away from his country and Messi made a mark for himself by finding the net thrice in his 14 appearances for the club in China League one in 2018 season. The six-foot tall striker is known for his strength and the ability to play as a support striker up front.
Kerala Blasters has already Ogbeche, who had a brilliant season with NorthEast United FC last season scoring 12 goals in his 18 appearances for the club. Ogbeche started his youth career at Paris Saint-Germain back in France. It’ll be good to watch how Cameroonian Messi Bouli links up with the Nigerian striker. Apart from these two, Kerala Blasters have signed some familiar names in Indian Super League (ISL) circuit.
Spanish midfielders Mario Arques and Sergio Cidoncha from Jamshedpur FC, Dutch defender Zuiverloon from Delhi Dynamos joins the club from South. The club has also loaned out their forward Matej Poplatnik to Hungarian club Kasposvari Rakoczi FC until July 2020. Recent foreign recruits also include Brazilian defender Jairo Rodrigues and Senegalese defensive midfielder Moustapha Gning. The club based in Kerala also bid farewell to their young shot-stopper Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem as the former U-17 Indian international, who represented India in FIFA U-17 world cup signed in favor of ATK.
“I am thrilled to join a club that has a strong vision for the future and the most passionate fan-base in India. I can’t wait for the season to start,” said the Cameroonian international after formalizing the deal.
