John Gregory has extended his contract with Chennaiyin FC for one more year. Englishman won the ISL last season with the club. Although this season Chennaiyin failed to qualify for playoffs. But Chennaiyin played well in the later part of this season. They managed to beat Bengaluru FC and they also played the Super Cup finals. Currently they are top in their AFC Cup group.
