Kerala Blasters FC is set to take on Bengaluru FC tomorrow in what will be the second leg of the league fixtures, after having lost to Bengaluru FC in the first outing on score-line of 4-2. A lot has changed since then with respect to both the teams as Kerala Blasters FC’s attacking has become even more formidable and the addition of Juande to strengthen their defence, and for Bengaluru FC tactician Carles Cuadrat parted ways after a series of poor results and is now led by Naushad Moosa after which Bengaluru FC has also started fighting back.
Kibu Vicuna said,
“Bengaluru FC is a good team with good players. The circumstances are indeed different but we are preparing for the game as best as possible. We are trying to improve everything in a strategical dimension – the defense, the offence, and so on. We are expecting a good match as we’ll be facing the semi-finalists of the last season. They are a really good team.
“It’s true that Dimas Delgado will miss tomorrow’s game and that he is a very good player. But that doesn’t change anything as they have other really good players like Fran Gonzalez, whom I know can play really well as a central defender and a midfielder. There still are Erik Paartalu, Cleiton Silva, Sunil Chhetri, Suresh Wangjam and so on. They are all really good players. Their match doesn’t depend upon this one single player. So, we are going to try and prepare to put out the best of ourselves like we did against SC East Bengal, we’ll try and create as many chances as possible.”
Bakary Kone has continuously been absent for the last few games. And there are several rumours surrounding his absence. On this note, Kibu Vicuna said,
“If you had noticed, Bakary Kone sustained an injury against SC East Bengal during the final minutes. And since then, he has been recovering. He came back against Odisha in the second half. But again, he sustained some physical problems. He is going to train with the team today, as usual. And we’ll see if he’ll feature in the starting XI tomorrow or not.”
Kibu Vicuna further emphasized on praising the whole team for the efforts they have been putting in and said he would rather not prefer to talk about any particular individual. And also said that he is very happy with the efforts the substitute goalkeepers have been putting in in trying to improve more everyday and that he is impressed with all the number ones altogether.
Kibu Vicuna also gave an update on the Subha Ghosh situation and said that the club is trying the best to resolve whatever the situation is and to get him to play for the club, and that he is regularly training with the club as of now. The tactician also said he is happy with the way Sahal Abdul Samad and Jessel Carneiro have been training with and performing for the team till now.
Prabhsukhan Gill briefed upon certain things which addressed topics like how he is looking forward to face his former team, how healthy the competition among the goalkeepers in the team has been and how the coach has helped every player from the very beginning of the season and so on.
Kibu Vicuna and Prabhsukhan Gill signed off.
