Kerala Blasters FC, who were looking and craving for a fierce comeback, got what they desired tonight against a strong Jamshedpur FC team. Being down to ten men, Kerala Blasters FC managed to win against Jamshedpur FC on a 3-2 scoreline. Jordan Murray scored a brace for the Kerala based side and Costa Nhamoinesu picked up his first goal through a brave movement.

Kibu Vicuña said,

“We believed since the beginning that we can win the match. We fought to get the three points. We started off well, we scored from a set-piece, then they drew it. The second half was very even. Don’t know what clearly happened for Lalruatthara to get a second yellow card. It was going to be difficult to win the match but we showed (good) character. We showed that we can be a very competitive team. And I’m very happy that we got the three points tonight.”

Kibu Vicuña opined both quality and character were shown by the team and that the three goals were the result of the innumerous chances created by the team.

Kibu continued,

“We prepared (for) the game as best as possible. We analysed the opponent and focused on the key aspects of the game. We even changed the formation a little bit. It was a good match and more importantly, a good result.”

Kibu continued and said that the team managed to beat one of the best sides in the league with one of the best strikers in the league, who are also especially good during set-plays with very pacy wingers.

Sahal Abdul Samad, who put forth a no-nonsense performance, was taken off after the second goal was scored by the team. On that note, Kibu Vicuña said,

“It was (done) to organize the team and win the match. And after the change we scored another goal, the plan was to play more counter-attack with Rahul in our side.”

Kibu Vicuña continued,

“Tonight is a night to enjoy the win. Of course, in every match, there will be certain things that need to be improved. But tonight is a moment to enjoy, cherish and congratulate the players.”

Kibu Vicuña signed off by saying that he believes in this team and that this team can play good football and that he hopes that this match will be the turning point for the team in this season.
