Kerala Blasters FC suffered a huge loss against Mumbai City FC after a startling win against Hyderabad FC and the road ahead for the Blasters is not good looking as they will be having to play back-to-back matches in the month of January. Now Kerala Blasters FC will face Odisha FC who suffered a loss against SC East Bengal in their previous match.
Kibu said,
“I saw their last match against SC East Bengal, they didn’t deserve to lose the game, they created a lot of chances and played well. I don’t know how will they play against us tomorrow but I know the way they have been playing till now. But for now, we are focused on our team and winning the game against Odisha FC.
“Like I said before, we are creating chances a lot but haven’t been able to convert them into goals. We are working on that aspect in the training.
Kibu Vicuna confirmed that there won’t be much happening in the January transfer window from here on with respect to Kerala Blasters FC. Kibu Vicuna also confirmed that Juande, the new Spanish signing will be available from Monday for team training and team selection.
Kibu Vicuna shared his thoughts on the tight schedule that has been given to Kerala Blasters this season. He said,
“We cannot do anything about the schedule. It has already been made. Sometimes we’ll play two matches in a week, sometimes we’ll have to play four. We only have few days of recovery period like this. In my opinion, a team should at least have five days of gap between games, that is the apt to recover. But then Mumbai won against Bengaluru with only three days to rest. So, we are not going to look for excuses.”
Kibu Vicuna reflected on I-League as it is about to start. Kibu Vicuna said that the league is going to be more open as Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will be missing from the league and he said that there’ll be a greater number of Indian players playing there. He opined that the league is going to become an evenly contested one.
To a couple of questions that were directed towards Seityasen Singh, he said
“I’m looking to give my best whenever I get a chance. It’s not that our team has below average players and the other teams have good players. It’s the luck that matters, because our team also has good players. We are all focused on the next game and we will do our best to get three points out of it.”
