What’s the story?
Ugandan striker Henry Kisseka will be featuring for Gokulam Kerala FC in the upcoming season after having a successful stint with Mohun Bagan. Kisseka contract ended in 4th of March this year and Gokulam Kerala FC made no mistake in signing the talismanic foreward.
This will be Kisseka’s second stint with the Kerala-based club after he played 9 matches for them in the 2017-18 season of Indian football. His goal scoring record for Gokulam Kerala FC has been super impressive as he scored 7 goals for them in just 9 matches.
The journey so far
Kisseka started his youth career with Ugandan club SC Villa Kampala before starting his professional career with Ura FC. He then played football for different Chinese clubs. Kisseka played in the AFC Champions League for Chinese side Becamex Bing Duong FC. In the meantime he also received several national call-ups and represented Uganda’s senior men’s national teams in 4 matches.
In the Hero I-league season 2018-2019, Kisseka played 19 matches for Mohun Bagan and even netted five goals for the Kolkata based side. He started in 17 of the 19 I league matches he played for Mohun Bagan.
What’s next?
Gokulam Kerala FC recently signed former Neroca FC midfielder Malemngamba Meitei who is a versatile playmaker. The arrival of Henry Kisseka will definitely strengthen their attack.
